To develop authentic Believers through a balanced ministry of worshiping God, preaching and teaching the Word, enlightening believers, caring for the needs of others and evangelizing the community.
To see lives transformed as we influence our community out of our intimacy with God.
Bishop Chris Crump is the Senior Pastor of Unity Christian Fellowship Church in Columbus, Ohio.
In September of 2005, Bishop Chris through much prayer accepted the call of pastorate of Unity Christian Fellowship. In June of 2007, Pastor Chris was officially installed as Pastor of Unity Christian Fellowship Church and served faithfully in the kingdom Builders International Fellowship of Churches. In April of 2017, Pastor Chris was Consecrated to the sacred Office of Bishop and serves as Assistant to the Apostle of the United Body of Christ Multicultural Fellowship of Churches.
Pastor Chris is married to Lady Charisse Crump and they are the proud parents of one beautiful daughter De’Anna Ariele Crump.
In September of 2005, a small group of baptized believers came together under the leadership of Elder Chris Crump.
The fellowship had a humble beginning of nine people who just wanted to serve the Lord. We were tired of "church as usual", and we vowed to build the fellowship as a “Back to the Basics Ministry.”
By following Christ with all we knew, we decided that we would worship together in our homes. Sunday services were held each Sunday at 11:30 am in the homes of Pastor Crump, Elder & Minister Penn. Also, bible study was soon established and held on Wednesday's at 7:30 p.m. at these same homes. Later adding to the list of places to worship was the home of Minister & Deacon Brown.
The Lord was tremendously blessing in our services and in order to remain in God's will and move forward the time had come to establish a name. Consequently, the name was established as “Unity Christian Fellowship”, taken from Psalms 133:1, where David declared “Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity”! In keeping with our name, we ensured that fellowship was to be an important aspect of our ministry. “For …without a vision the people perish.” Our vision was to remain steadfast in the work of the Lord.
We remained faithful and worshiped in these homes until the Lord spoke to Pastor Crump that it was time for the saints to have a stationary place of worship. We held fast to the scripture in Isaiah 57:7, where it states “for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people”.
In keeping with this vision, a search for a building began. In a matter of a few weeks God had accomplished this vision by opening a door for us to worship at the King Arts Complex, 867 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Praise God, on the first Sunday in November of 2005 the doors were opened to the congregation and surrounding community.
The membership began to increase and we saw the fruit of the promises that God had made to us that He would add to the church daily such as should be saved. Once again God spoke to Pastor Crump that the time had come for Unity Christian Fellowship to find a more permanent place of worship. We knew that we were aggressively growing from a fellowship to an organized church. We intermittently moved to the Livingston location until our building was released two months later.
On April 25, 2007, the Unity Christian Fellowship family moved to a church at 165 South Cypress Avenue.
On Cypress Avenue we tremendously experienced God move in an awesome way! Souls were saved, lives were changed and people were delivered and added to the ministry. Consequently, we knew the time had come that in order for us to continue to advance in ministry we would need a larger facility and this time one we would call “home.”
On October 18, 2008 “Unity” moved to a new location in which we thought it would be a permanent place of worship. However, "Praise God" on August 18, 2011 we were able to purchase a new facility located at, 1159 Demorest Rd.
In 2019, the Lord spoke to Bishop Crump that our time was up on the West side and to come back into the City of Columbus. On June 12, 2019, we purchased our permanent location at 3833 Westerville Road, Columbus, Ohio (Church of the Living Word). June 23, 2019, Church of the Living Word merged into Unity Christian Fellowship. On XXX “Unity” celebrated with our first service at our new location- “delayed, but not denied!”
